New Artist Addition: Sevens
Sevens
I already blogged about this guy and I feel great about adding him to this section, #2 on my list of artists on this page! Sevens, aka Mark Patterson, is a Gospel House DJ from Toronto whose music I think is really sick. Sevens mixes a great blend of aesthetically wicked sounding House Music with a clear Gospel message. Sevens’ music really has a lot of substance, and I think for being in a COUNTRY (Canada) that has a severely weak Gospel House scene, this guy could be a pioneer of sorts. Check him out.

Okay. So I’m gonna, for a little while, post up an instrumental as often as I can. I think producers in hip hop are incredibly under-rated and get swept under the rug a bit. The time it takes for a producer to get famous and to carve out their fan base is a heckofalot longer than an MC or even a DJ. So here’s to the beat makers!

Ministry Goals
- to speak at three conferences, workshops or seminars by September 1st, 2010 — one in the bag (see you at teens conference 2010)
- to help Ginseng Radio execute our first marketing plan of 2010
- to successfully achieve Mandate and the Chop Shop achieve our 2010 programming goals
- to write 5 articles this year on “Music, Media and Discernment” aimed at youth audiences
- to help Stephen Kwan successfully raise money for his long-term missions trip to Africa — including a t-shirt campaign and a full-fledged fund raising event
- to reach 100% funding in my own deputation
- to take one bible course this year (most likely, 4th quarter)
- to help Ginseng Radio successfully with one full fledged fund raising event
- to lend my music industry expertise to one Christian artist looking to start out
Professional Goals
- To attend at least one concert a month; I think MF Doom and the Mighty Mos Def is coming to Toronto this month
- to launch “madhattersays.com” — the extension of this blog, for the showcasing the services that I offer as a music and media freelancer
- to register “madhatter industry services” as a provincial wide sole-proprietorship
- to purchase a “madhatter industry services” GST # – gotta start paying taxes eventually, might as well start when I’m young
- to obtain 3 professional web programming/design gigs by April 30th of 2010 — I already have 1 in the bag
- to obtain 3 professional DJ gigs by April 30th of 2010 — I already have 2.5 in the bag
- to construct 5 marketing plans for different business entities within the music and media industries — Ginseng Radio, Duane Forrest, Mad Hatter Industry Services, _______________, ________________
- to upload 5 of my own unique videos to Youtube or Vimeo by April 30th of 2010 — concerts, interviews, whatever
- to continue working with Duane Forrest and helping him achieve his own industry goals — easily another 15 goals
